SEP So Cal stands for Spirital Enrichment Program of Southern California.  SEP So Cal is an amazing one-week life-changing Christian youth camp held every July for youth ages 8-17 in Pine Valley, CA (one hour east of San Diego, CA).

Volunteer Positions

What makes SEP So Cal so amazing is the volunteer staff and their love for God and the youth. There are a number of different positions that staff can volunteer to serve in -- see below for descriptions.  If you are interested in applying to be on staff, click here.

LEAD Counselor

These positions are FULL-time jobs where you are responsible for an entire dorm of young people.  WE pay for housing, meals & T-shirts because you are required to be with your dorm at all times -- except when you've gotten someone to cover your dorm for you.

- Jr. Camp Dorm Lead Counselor (dorm of 8 youth ages 8-12)• serving a dorm of 8 campers (8-12) • attends morning chapel with the dorm• primary guardian for the week, knowing where campers are at all times• take the dorm to the daytime & evening activities• sleep in the dorm with the Campers & Assistant counselor

- Sr. Camp Dorm Lead Counselor (dorm of 10 youth ages 12-18)• serving a dorm of 10 campers (2-18) • primary guardian for the week, knowing where campers are at all times• attends morning chapel with the dorm• take the dorm to the daytime & evening activities• sleep in the dorm with the Campers & Assistant counselor

Assistant Counselor / Activity Leader

These positions are FULL-time jobs where you are responsible for assisting a LEAD counselor and leading a camp activity. WE pay for housing, meals & T-shirts because you are required to be either with your dorm or leading your activity -- unless of course you've gotten someone to cover for you.

JR Camp Assistant Counselor • assist the Lead Counselor in serving a dorm of 8 campers (ages 8-12) • attends morning chapel with the dorm• get the campers to breakfast each day while Lead Counselor is at a meeting• work in an activity during the day (e.g. volleyball, swimming, creative arts, etc.)• are with the dorm for most meals and evening activities• sleep in the dorm with the campers & Lead Counselor

SR Camp Assistant Dorm Counselor • assist the Lead Counselor in serving a dorm of 10 campers (ages 12-18) • get the campers to breakfast each day while Lead Counselor is at a meeting• attends morning chapel with the dorm• work in an activity during the day (e.g. volleyball, swimming, creative arts, etc.)• are with the dorm for most meals and evening activities• sleep in the dorm with the campers & Lead Counselor

Also needed:
Camp Nurse
Dorm Parent

This position is NOT required to be a full-time position but you can make it as full time as you desire.  Because of that fact and because of budget limitations, we have to ask that Dorm Parents pay a portion for their own food & lodging ($100.00).

Here are the benefits:

• The dorm parent sleeps in a motel style lodge room, not in a dorm with the campers

• This position allows for parents to bring their small children and be their primary guardian

• Has much more relaxed schedule than a counselor.

• Acts as a type of aunt, uncle or grandparent for a dorm or two, spoiling the kids with attention, time & lots of love.

• Will help give the counselor breaks if needed.

• Are responsible for washing their dorms camp T-shirts twice during camp

• May also decide to volunteer in another area of camp if they have spare time. (i.e. office, an activity, dining hall monitor, track instructor, etc.)
